Victoria Vaults shocked last season's York John Smith's Ladies League division one champions Brigadier with a well-deserved 5-4 win.
Jackie Coverdale hit big scores to level with Brigadier after their captain Sue Lowery had shot out on a two dart 85. Coverdale then partnered Sue Claydon to win the decider.
Sandra Bruce was Ox's only success against City Arms whose Sue Smith and Angie Hields were in sparkling form. Marie Caravana and Vicki Drew took the decider for Cygnet against Cranes, whose Babs Harrison hit a double-ton.
Dawn Exton hit the tons for Wenlock in a 6-3 win against Clifton. Layerthorpe also beat Puss 'n Boots 6-3, Tina Platt and Julie Ashton piling on the tons.
Shepherds shot to the top of division two as Pat Hurst and Maggie Beddingham guided them to an impressive victory against Severus, whose Sue Richardson was the only one to get on the scoresheet.
Betty Pinder won a pairs game on her own as Britannia beat Dringhouses to go into joint second place with Slipper and Cygnet. The latter lost 5-4 to Clifton whose Jean Wright and Julie Maycock secured the match.
Burton WMC extended their lead in division three with good scoring by Margaret Davis (100, 100) and Paula Rose against Tang Hall WMC.
Woolpack went second as they beat close rivals Mitre 5-4. Kath Powell and Nicky Nielson got the match winner. Anne Barber and Cath Sturdy secured Poacher a 5-4 victory against Slip.
Pat Nelson and Janice Wilberham won the decider for Clifton after captain Gez Golton had set the standard against Leeman.
Queen continued their leadership of division four as Sharon Rishworth and Shelagh Kenny helped them to a 6-3 win against Beeswing. Junction kept the pressure on by beating Leeman 'C' 7-2, Linda Hall recording her first win.
Toni Smallwood and Jean Elliott sealed Frog's 5-4 win after Jean Smallwood and Olive Blades had levelled against Leeman 'B'. Newly-wed captain Ann Wood led Shepherds to a comfortable 8-1 win at Puss 'n Boots.
