A talk about the past has ensured a better future for two charitable causes.
Easingwold residents packed into the Galtres Leisure Hall earlier this month to hear Valerie Taylor tell the story of the town's history.
Every year for the last 12 she has given the talk, illustrated by photographs old and new from the collection of Eric Readman. This year's talk was their last as they are moving on to other projects.
The talk ranged from Easingwold's agricultural roots to its landmarks, such as the 1864 town hall.
So many people turned up that more than £1,000 was raised. This was split equally between the Galtres Centre and the NSPCC.
Cheques were presented to Ian Hall of the Galtres Centre and Ken Ridley, North Yorkshire appeals manager of the NSPCC.
