Although they were still some way below top form, Pocklington still recorded a comfortable 27-10 victory at Hull.
Pocklington dominated from the start, with number eight Jason Nicholson making a couple of storming runs early on, and new hooker Steve Hogarth announcing his arrival by taking the first scrum against the head.
Pocklington were stopped a yard short on half a dozes occasions, before they opened the scoring when full-back Mark Taylor surged up the blind side to give Ben Connolly the score.
Connolly was almost over again when he challenged for a high kick to the corner, but from the resultant scrum number nine Jonny Newsome darted through to touch down.
It continued to be one-way traffic and after a three-quarter scissors move, three forwards came close before flanker Andy Wilson finally stretched over.
Hull had hardly had an attack but they moved up field at the end of the first half, only for Connolly to intercept a home pass and out-pace Leroy McKenzie on a 70-yard sprint to the line.
Pocklington eased off in the second period until fly-half Kevin Bowling sparked another strong attack that brought a period of intense pressure.
Pocklington battered at the Hull line until Connolly came inside from his wing and was obstructed as he chipped over the top.
The generous penalty try award and Taylor's conversion put Pocklington out of sight at 27-0 with a hour gone.
To their credit, Hull kept plugging away, and as Pocklington tired in the closing stages, the gaps began to appear.
Hull took advantage to score two late tries through centre McKenzie and prop Dave Crowe to gain some consolation.
