One of York's most historic thoroughfares is to close while maintenance work is carried out.
The historic Shambles in the heart of the city is set to shut on October 28 and reopen on November 19.
But this well-trodden part of the tourist trail will remain open to pedestrians at all times.
City of York Council has imposed the traffic ban so general maintenance work can completed.
An alternative route for traffic during this time is via Pavement, Stonebow, Peasholme Green, Jewbury, St Maurices Road, Goodramgate and Kings Square.
