The work of North Yorkshire police's accident investigation unit features in a new TV documentary starting today.
Channel 5 cameras followed the unit's four investigators whose job it is to piece together the last moments of vehicles involved in serious crashes.
And they have their work cut out for them; the county's roads are among the most dangerous in Britain.
Traffic officer Mick Natt, who set up the unit, which works out of Tadcaster police station, said: "We deal with more deaths in a year than a CID officer will see in a lifetime."
Crash starts today at 8pm on Channel 5.
