CHOCOLATE lovers will find Nestl's latest innovation hard to swallow. The dandy major and his elegant lady have been evicted from Quality Street.

This fine couple have attended a million festive parties. But their Victorian garb, so evocative of the perfect Christmas, is now thought outdated. At least Nestl has not replaced this image with one more redolent of modern Christmas: children fighting over the Playstation would not have the same appeal.

And at least the chocolates are the same. When the family is chomping on their favourite soft centres, the poor old major will soon be forgotten.
