Winners of a good design competition run by Ryedale District Council have been presented with their prize by council chairman David Cussons.
Brinkburn Barn, which belongs to Gerrand Jones, was chosen as the winning entry in the council's Good Design and Construction Awards.
The judges chose the barn because of the way in which architect David Ward and Sheriff Hutton builder Tony Wilford converted the barn into a dwelling house.
"The result is most impressive," said Coun Cussons.
"A small two-storey extension at the end of the barn provides additional accommodation in a modest manner with careful use of matching stone and clay tiles.
"Judging the awards was very difficult due to the extremely high standard of entries," he said.
