The current tour by US teen sensation Britney Spears is one of the pop events of the year.

And regulars at the Crown Inn, in Hemingbrough are about to get their own taste of the Britney magic.

They may think the famous face looks more familiar than it should - because the Britney they'll be watching is their part-time barmaid, Jeni Jaye. As the real Britney continues her world tour, Jeni will be putting her tribute act through its paces at the Crown.

Jeni, 21, lives in Hemingbrough and is a professional singer. For the past four months she has toured the country with her tribute show, and she has also recently been working in Spain. With current offers of tours in Germany, Spain, The Far East and even Taiwan in the pipeline it's amazing Jeni finds any time at all to keep the drinks flowing for the thirsty locals at the Crown.

Only last week, Jeni and her dancers performed to thousands of students at the National Ice Arena in Nottingham with Steps Beyond, Ali G and the former boxer, now turned top club DJ, Nigel Benn.

But Jeni admits to being more nervous about performing to a relatively small audience than she ever does when she plays in huge arenas.

Jeni said: "It's much more nerve-wracking to do the act in front of people I know."

Jeni will be performing her tribute at the pub on Saturday. For more information call landlord Stan Wilson on (01757) 638434.
