Whoever is commentating on the races at Newcastle tomorrow had better start rehearsing a tongue-twister of a name tonight.

The chances are that Nap selection Pharaoh Hatshepsut will be involved in the finish of the Northern Spirit Nursery, so smooth delivery of the filly's name will be crucial.

Trained near Glasgow by Jim Goldie, who is enjoying his best-ever season, Pharaoh Hatshepsut showed her liking for soft ground at Ayr last week when winning at 20-1.

There was, however, no apparent fluke about that performance and, with similarly testing conditions assured tomorrow a follow-up could well be on the cards.

Useful apprentice George Baker again has the mount on Pharoah Hatshepsut - a name worth remembering, if you can't pronounce it.

Settrington trainer John Quinn is aiming to strike while the iron is hot with Bowlers Boy, who lines-up for the betsmart.co.uk Handicap after his excellent effort at Pontefract on Monday.

This mudloving sprinter finished a creditable runner-up to James Stark on his latest outing, which confirmed his continuing well-being.

With Kevin Darley significantly booked for the mount tomorrow, Bowlers Boy has strong claims.

Sheriff Hutton-based Darley, who now looks to have the championship title in his pocket, can also score on Revenge in the S V Rutter Handicap over two miles.

Clive Cox's four-year-old finished a respectable second to Sirrindi at Catterick recently and would not need to improve much on that form to go one better this time.

The promising Tomasino could be yet another winner for Darley in the betsmart.co.uk Maiden Stakes. The two-year-old is trained by Mark Johnston for BHB chairman Peter Savill.

Only For Gold has become a very difficult horse to win with, but Alan Berry's charge ran well enough behind Rymer's Rascal at Redcar last time to suggest he can make his presence felt in division one of the Gosforth Park Racing Club Handicap.

At Brighton, Red Caf has leading claims in the Brightwells Selling Handicap.

The four-year-old struck winning form in pleasing style at Ayr, where the soft ground seemed to bring out the best in him. Under similar conditions here, Red Caf can score again.

John Bramhill again has the mount on David Evans' four-year-old.

Three Owls, triumphant here three weeks ago, can follow-up in the Norway Spruce Classified Stakes.

Luca Cumani's filly has no less than nine lengths to spare over her rivals on her latest outing and looks to have a bright future. It would come as no surprise to see her cope with this step up in class.

The Ash Apprentice Handicap will not take a great deal of winning and, with trainer Peter Harris in such wonderful form, it is worth paying attention to his runner Bold Precedent, the mount of the accomplished Darren Williams.

Newcastle: 2.05 Tomasino, 2.35 Pharaoh Hatshepsut (Nap), 3.05 Revenge, 3.35 Bowlers Boy, 4.05 Only For Gold, 4.35 Katie Komaite, 5.05 Ambushed.

Brighton: 2.20 Oomph, 2.50 Galy Bay, 3.20 Midnight Creek, 3.50 Model Queen, 4.20 Red Caf, 4.50 Three Owls, 5.20 Bold Precedent.
