DO you own a twee, high-ceilinged, airy old-fashioned storybook home near York that you plan to leave for a few days next month? Then you could be in the money.

NMTV, the York television production company, is looking for a "Christmas Card" property near York as the base for its series of planned Christmas Television specials. And it is prepared to pay from £1,500 for the privilege.

Programme-makers will move into the house for a week next month to record six special shows for UK Style, the cable, satellite and digital channel - and prepare for visits from a whole host of TV celebrities.

NMTV programme makers have travelled as far as Aberdeen and Exeter to make the series, but have decided to stay at their York base for the Christmas specials to capture the city's special Yuletide atmosphere.

The programme makers expect filming will take four or five days in the week beginning November 13. Anyone wanting further detail should phone Annemarie Leahy or Tracy Molloy on 01904 621331.

The Christmas specials come at the end of a busy year for NMTV, which will increase staffing at its Huntington Road production centre to 20.

Mr Wise said: "We're already filming a further 80 five-minute features for Yorkshire Television's Tonight programme, and a 15-part series on restorers of vintage transport from Spitfires to steam locomotives for the Discovery Home and Leisure Channel. Earlier this year, we made a 15-part series on modelmaking, again for Discovery."
