The extrovert managing director who arrived at work on her birthday dressed as her idol, Tina Turner, leads by example - never asking anyone to do something she wouldn't tackle herself, which is why she offered the staff Tina Turner wigs for the occasion!
Evidence of how much her employees appreciate her attention to detail, customer care and determination to provide a peerless service is that they have nominated her for Business Personality of the Year. They point out that by generating a feel-good factor, the rewards have been continual growth of the business - recently winning a prestigious contract for commercial staff at one of York's biggest employers and by winning the Investors in People award for the third consecutive year.
One of Maggie's talents, they say, is knowing when to back off. When staff refused to wear those wigs she conceded defeat....
