ONE of your readers asked if cyclists would show respect to pedestrians on the new Millennium Bridge when it opens (Letters, October 14).
I would like to advise this reader that most of the cyclists in York show no respect to pedestrians, motorists or the law and are unlikely to start when they get their new toy - the bridge!
The big problem is that the authorities do nothing to either educate or prosecute these two-wheeled law-breakers which sends out a message of complete support for footpath riding, red-light jumping and anti-clockwise navigation of roundabouts.
When will our council do something about these idiots, follow the law and fine them?
