Traffic accidents on the region's roads have claimed another three lives.
An elderly woman was killed in a collision on a road between Harrogate and Ripon and a pedestrian died on the A64 between York and Tadcaster, while 57-year-old Brenda Nicklin, from Bradford, died when her car was involved in a head-on collision near Full Sutton, in East Yorkshire.
She had to be cut from the car by firefighters after the accident, on the A166 between Bishop Wilton and Full Sutton shortly after 8am on Saturday.
Her Vauxhall Corsa collided with a seven-and-a-half tonne van, driven by Shaun Lewis, 34, from Halifax. He was taken to York District Hospital suffering from shock, but was released after treatment.
The elderly woman, Sheila Emsley, 69, from Melmerby, near Ripon, had been travelling towards Ripon on the A61 at 6.55pm on Saturday with her husband when the car, an Audi Coupe, was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Vectra .
The couple, along with the driver of the Vectra, believed to be from Harrogate, were taken to Harrogate District Hospital, where the woman died.
The pedestrian, believed to be from the Leicester area, died when he was in collision with a 4x4 Ford Maverick near the Aagrah restaurant on the westbound carriageway of the A64 near York.
He is believed to have walked into the path of the vehicle.
The family in the Maverick, from Leeds, were shocked but uninjured.
Police are still trying to identify the pedestrian, who is described as a white man, aged about 20.
