Leader of the pack - this group of York Brownies will be cheering on their Snowy Owl when she pounds the streets in next weekend's Great North Run.
Health visitor Pauline Dillon-Kelly is one of 80 local participants who is taking part in the Great North Run on Sunday for the charity Action Research.
Pauline, 45, of Horseman Lane, Copmanthorpe, who is a Snowy Owl with the 3rd Copmanthorpe Brownies, said she only started running in March, in preparation for the 5km Race For Life for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in May.
After that she started training for the famous Tyneside half-marathon, and had raised about £150 in sponsorship cash for her chosen charity.
She said she would tell the 24 members of her pack, who are aged between seven and ten, to watch the Great North Run on the television so they could cheer her on.
Pauline admitted to feeling jittery about the event, but added: "I'm sure it will be fine on the day - it's just the thought of it."
