I AM appalled that the City of York Council is trying to close Ralph Butterfield School. This school should remain open because:
It was given an excellent OFSTED report.
The school has just built an extension which incorporates a library and computer suite costing around £45,000. Most of this cash was raised by parents.
If it closed nearly 300 children would be disrupted as opposed to 70 at Oaken Grove.
The parental choice over the last few years has been to send their children to Ralph Butterfield School. We have children travelling from Strensall, New Earswick and Huntington.
I urge the council to keep this wonderful school open.
