I WAS downhearted and disappointed to read two letters which severely undermined the hard work being done every day by SNAPPY (October 6).
The letters appeared to be more interested in scoring points than saving a project which has brought immense pleasure and happiness to so many children's lives.
My brother uses both SNAPPY and Gateway's facilities on a regular basis and I appreciate the hard work involved in both schemes. But now the priority is to keep SNAPPY going. It is an essential part of my brother's and many other's lives. He lives and breathes SNAPPY.
It allows the kids to build relationships and to socialise in a warm and welcome environment. If it disappeared York would be losing one of its finest assets.
I thank all of those involved with SNAPPY for their determination and immense effort over the many years it has been running.
Hopefully, with the backing of the Evening Press and the City of York Council it will be allowed to continue for much longer.

...ON behalf of all members and volunteers of York Gateway Club for Young People I thank Sarah and Simon for the fun-packed time we all had in London. We visited the Dome, the big wheel and saw the show Starlight Express.
The evening disco was enjoyed by those members who also attend SNAPPY and others over 25 who are still entitled to social and leisure facilities.

Geldof Road,
