Police today arrested a man in connection with a hammer raid on a North Yorkshire post office.
The man, who is from Leeds but has not yet been named, was today being interviewed by Selby CID about the raid on Hill Top Post Office, in York Road, Tadcaster.
The robbery subjected a postmistress to a terrifying ordeal by masked raiders carrying sledgehammers.
Witnesses to the incident on Wednesday are urged to contact Selby CID on 01904 669654.
They are particularly interested in speaking to anybody who saw three men in a grey Saab car parked in Sandfield Terrace, Tadcaster, between 11.20am and 12pm.
