You are unlikely to find a puss in boots, but there should be plenty of people in hiking gear for a sponsored walk in aid of the York Cats Protection League.
The walk of approximately six miles will start from Marygate car park on Sunday, October 22, at 10.30am.
For a sponsor form and more details, ring Annie Greenwood on 01904 706359. Meanwhile, slightly closer at hand is a festive evening in aid of the city's Cats Protection League, which takes place at St Oswald's Church Hall, in Fulford, on Wednesday. The idea is to buy your Christmas presents early during the evening, which will include products from Body Shop on sale.
It will be held between 7.30pm and 9.30pm and admission is £2.
Anyone who wants to make donations to the York Cats Protection League can send them to the group's treasurer Ms G Amos, 72 Keble Park North, Bishopthorpe, York, YO23 2SX.
