A York man is today in jail awaiting sentence for a city centre daylight sex robbery which passers-by "ignored".
On the day he was due to stand trial, Mark David Drummond, aged 34, pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting a young woman on May 25. He had previously admitted robbing the same woman.
Judge Tom Cracknell adjourned sentence for pre-sentence and psychiatric reports to be prepared.
Drummond, who was living in Robinson Court, off Walmgate, at the time of the attack, was remanded in custody, where he has been since his arrest. Within hours of the attack, the 18-year-old victim told her family seven people walked past and made no attempt to help her until she fell to the ground.
