IN your On This Day section of October 5 you refer to "Jim Bakker, disgraced TV evangelist." Any responsible newspaper would be aware that Jim was exonerated on appeal and cannot therefore be considered disgraced.
The press and television were universal in carrying the story of Jim's conviction but to my knowledge not one carried the story of his exoneration.
Who was it that said: "Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story"?
