Three young brothers may not always spell domestic bliss, but when they sing in Ripon Cathedral the result is perfect harmony.
The Menage boys from Husthwaite, near Easingwold, have made history by becoming the first trio of siblings to sing in the cathedral choir.
William Menage, aged nine, has just joined as a new chorister and will sing alongside brothers Rory, 12, and Charlie, 11.
Canon Michael Glanville-Smith, the canon pastor of the cathedral, said: "There seems to be no reference in the past to this number of brothers being in the choir at the same time.
"It is quite a family presence when you realise there are only 18 boy choristers in total."
Kerry Beaumont, master of choristers, said: "Boys who are chosen as choristers at the voice trials held annually are awarded choral scholarships on individual merit."
The brothers Menage all attend Ripon Cathedral Choir School.
