A NORTH Yorkshire law firm has put £125,000 into a high-tech computer link as part of an office expansion.
The seven-strong probate and trust department at Barber Titleys, headed by partners David Reah and Judith Long, has relocated into additional office space at 23 North Park Road, Harrogate, from the main offices at 6 North Park Road.
The proximity of the two offices has enabled it to use the latest infra-red data transmission technology to link the respective computers.
The £125,000 IT investment includes a top management system, which staff on both sites can now use without the need for the offices to be connected by extensive cabling.
Mr Reah said: "We are one of the first law firms in the area to make use of this technology which is obviously cheaper and quicker to install, as well as giving long-term maintenance savings. In addition, we also have much greater operational flexibility as a cable-free environment means people can move offices with the minimum of disruption."
The new office, which has car parking on-site, and easy level access for elderly and infirm clients, provides the firm with the room it requires to develop its charity administration department at 23 North Park Road and further expand its property, planning and commercial departments at the main office.
Barber Titleys, which now has a total workforce of more than 30, including eight partners, has enjoyed significant growth since it was launched nearly three years ago.
