The annual Remembrance Sunday parade through a North Yorkshire market town looks set to go ahead after all - thanks to an appeal in the Evening Press.
The march through Easingwold on November 12 was under threat when the York Railway Institute Golden Rail Band had to pull out due to the ill-health of some of its members.
But since the problem was highlighted in Wednesday's Evening Press, offers of help have flooded in to Geoff Richardson, chairman of Easingwold Royal British Legion.
The local brass band association has offered to try and pull together a replacement outfit from bands across the area and the York City Scout Band may also be able to help out. The York Railway Institute senior band may also be able to step into the breach.
Mr Richardson said: "The article created quite a bit of interest and I'm hopeful that out of it, we will come up with a band."
He said on Wednesday, a meeting of the town's Royal British Legion branch decided that the parade would definitely not go ahead if a band could not be found.
"We did not know where to go to get a band or how to go about doing it," he said.
