ZAFS Lions made the best possible start to their York John Smith's Sunday Morning League campaign with a fine 4-1 win at last season's runners up Severus WMC.
Mark Ratcliffe, Kevin Barker, Wayne Carter and Glen Featherstone scored for Zafs with a lone reply from Brooks.

Shipton continued their good start as goals from Blake (2) and O'Brien helped them to a 3-1 win over FC Magnet with Jack Wilson scoring for the visitors.
Marcia started their league season with a 3-1 win over Carlton and York Hotel beat Fulford Bay 2-0.
Blacksmiths Arms lead the way in division three after a 4-2 win over Black Horse. Hinds and Heals both scored twice for Blacksmiths. A hat-trick for Wigley helped Bishopthorpe to an emphatic 8-2 win at Fulford WMC and honours were even as British Telecom drew 1-1 with Nestl Flag.
Cygnet had little trouble in overcoming Jubilee Reserves in division four. Mark Henderson hit four, Colin Brown two and Martin Harman and Stuart Nichols added one apiece in the 8-1 victory.
Beeswing travelled to Linton on Ouse and recorded a 4-3 win.
In the battle between last season's promoted clubs, Thorpe United came out on top 4-1 at Wigginton GH, while Raskelf and St Clements WMC shared the points in a 2-2 draw.
Three goals for Lambton and one apiece for Littlewood and Kelly gave Boy and Barrel a fine 5-3 victory over Black Bull, for whom Benny Redpath, Russ Tarbat and Baz Barrick were on the mark.
Copmanthorpe Reserves and Hemingbrough were drawing 1-1 when the Copmanthorpe keeper Andrew Crosby was injured. Hemingbrough took full advantage and goals by Harrison (3), Collins (2) and Williams helped them to a 6-2 win. James Craske and Matt Bastock (penalty) scored for Copmanthorpe.
York Nomads got back to winning ways with a 4-2 win over Zafs Reserves, Crosby netting a hat-trick for Nomads. Haxby Lions accounted for Heworth 5-3 while Inland Revenue gained their first point with a 3-3 draw against Keystones, Burn (2) and Ellis the scorers.
Burnholme SC head the early division six table thanks to goals from Foster, Thomas, Preece and Rix in their 4-2 win over new boys Beefeater.
Lee Bartlett scored twice and Danny Leach and Steve Stone scored one each as Volunteers Reserves shared eight goals with Northern Spirit.
A stunning individual goal by Nick Read was the highlight of Greyhound's 3-2 victory over Wanderers. Lee Davison (penalty) and Paul Gardner scored the others with Michael Cammidge and Craig Horsman replying for Wanderers.
In the Mecca trophy Selby Olympia WMC strolled to a 13-0 win over a depleted Bishopthorpe Reserves who had just nine men.
