Pokmon Snap, published by Nintendo for N64
It is difficult to describe the idea behind this game without making it sound bor-ing and pointless to all but the most hardened Pokmaniac.
Yet the game is actually surprisingly fun and addictive, not to mention the least frustrating game I have ever played.
In Pokmon Snap, the plot is simple enough. You travel through various areas of Pokmon Island in a little buggy, with a camera. You see a Pokmon - you shoot it! No, you shoot a picture of it with the camera.
At the end of the area, you get to select one photo of each Pokmon that you think is the best and Professor Oak will award you points for each based on the size, pose and positioning of the Pokmon in the pic. That's it! I told you it sounded boring and pointless. You can interact with the Pokmon by throwing food and Pester Balls or playing a Pok-Flute and this can get you special poses, reveal hidden Pokmon or evolve those you can already see, but that is essentially the game.
