The Princess Royal made sure she had her best threads on when she dropped into Goole.
For Her Highness, as President of the British Knitting and Clothing Export Council, was paying a visit to a menswear factory.
The Princess inspected the Baird Menswear Brands factory's production line, and joined staff in the canteen afterwards.
Hundreds of primary school children were on hand to welcome her on her arrival, and, even though she may only have made a brief appearance for them, they ensured a carnival mood.
Her official welcome came from a team of VIPs, including MP Ian Cawsey. In the canteen, she unveiled a plaque to commemorate her visit. She make a light-hearted apology for interrupting the normal turnover of the factory, and joked that she would take full responsibility.
