Thirsk trainer David Barron and Sheriff Hutton jockey Kevin Darley, who joined forces to land the major race at Redcar last Saturday, can make another successful strike further from home tomorrow.
The North Yorkshire duo are represented at Lingfield by Spanish Star, who has strong claims of winning the featured £10,000 Tote Trifecta Showcase Handicap.
At Redcar, Barron provided Darley with the proverbial 'armchair' ride on Dim Sums, who easily justified favouritism in the £100,000 Two-Year-Old Trophy, his fourth win in five starts this season.
Spanish Star is not quite as talented as his younger stablemate, but the three-year-old romped home on the sand at Southwell last week when trained by William Jarvis.
Partnered by Darley, the gelding won a claiming race by no less than 13 lengths from Sharp Steel and was promptly snapped-up by Barron for £8,000.
Spanish Star, also a winner on an all-weather surface at Wolverhampton in February, could prove a real bargain - especially if he wins tomorrow, which looks a distinct possibility.
Imperialist gets my vote in the Come Racing At Lingfield Handicap.
Richard Hannon's charge ran a decent race at Chester a fortnight ago when finishing fourth to the in-form Lady Boxer. She is worth another chance here in the hands of Richard Hughes.
Madrasee deserves serious attention in the Berkeley Homes Eastern Nusery Handicap over six furlongs.
Jimmy Quinn's mount shaped with definate promise over the minimum trip on this course recently when finishing fourth to Amelia, who subsequently ran well at Newmarket.
Tomorrow's extra furlong is expected to suit Madrasee, who is napped to oblige for trainer Michael Blanshard.
Ertlon has been running respectably and looks capable of being involved in the business end of the Lingfield Park Buy Your Annual Membership Selling Stakes. Philip Robinson has the mount.
Danzig Withwolves, who ran as though just in need of the outing on her debut at Sandown, can open her winning account in the Millennium Annual Membership Maiden Stakes.
The Henry Cecil-trained three-year-old was beaten less than two lengths into fourth by Invader at Sandown, and was only worried of first prize inside the final furlong.
She can step up on that effort this time. Richard Quinn again has the mount.
Over the sticks at Towcester, Jokers Charm has strong claims in the Lambert Smith Hampton Handicap Hurdle.
The nine-year-old is back over the smaller obstacles after a win and a third over fences at Sedgefield and Perth respectively.
The promising Molly Fitz Lad (4.50) is also worth noting in the hands of Norman Williamson.
This afternoon's Catterick meeting went ahead following an early-morning inspection. The programme had been in doubt after heavy rain. The going was soft, heavy in places.
