GERMAN striker Sini Savic could make his Scarborough debut tonight as Chester City visit the McCain Stadium.
The 19-year-old, who has joined in a loan deal from First Division Barnsley, was registered just too late for Saturday's victory over Woking, but has now been cleared to play.
Savic, who is tied up on a long-term contract with the Tykes, impressed in a couple of pre-season games for Boro, and becomes the first player brought in by boss Neil Thompson following the lifting of the FA-imposed transfer embargo.
With Chris Tate also returning from a three-match suspension, Thompson now has extra strike power - and a nice dilemma of who to play up front.
In-form Gareth Williams, who was moved forward in Tate's absence, joined fans' favourite Steve Brodie on five goals for the season after netting in Saturday's 3-2 win, but may be moved back into midfield as Thompson accommodates another out-and-out hitman.
Meanwhile, Brodie, who was doubtful for Saturday's clash with a knee injury, came through that match and training yesterday without any adverse reaction and is a likely starter.
However, the Seadogs chief would not reveal which strike force he was set to employ. "We've got a few more options and increased competition for places, which is good," he said.
In defence, Thompson will have to again do without Frenchman Romain Faure, who is still ruled out with a groin strain.
"I don't think it's going to be a long-term injury but we had better get him right rather than rush him back," added the former York City boss.
Scarborough could go third with a victory tonight, but both they and Chester, who could leapfrog their hosts should they win, are some way behind Conference pace-setters Rushden and Diamonds in their bids to regain Football League status.
Scarborough: from Woods, Russell, Ingram, Ellender, Brunton, Betts, Jones, Pounder, Williams, Brodie, Morris, Savic, Gildea, Rennison, Stoker, Newton, Tate.
