POLICE are becoming increasingly concerned for a York pensioner who went missing from her home a week ago. Gladys Paylor, 71, was last seen in the north of the city last Monday and police have had no luck in tracing her.
They have received numerous calls from people claiming to have seen her, including one supposed sighting in the St Nicholas Fields area, but their investigations have so far come to nothing. Mrs Paylor is described as 5ft 8in tall, with greying light brown collar-length hair and police have said they think she may have left home wearing her blue slippers. Police also said that Mrs Paylor had often spoken about the good times she had in Scarborough with her late husband. She also regularly walks to the shops in Eastholme Drive, in Rawcliffe, and also enjoys walking around the lake at Clifton Moor. Anyone with any information about her whereabouts should ring York police on 01904 631321.
