WHAT a fantastic Olympics this has been. Sydney 2000 has seen Britain's athletes perform superbly, winning more gold metals than at any time in the past 80 years.
Of all the triumphs in this sensational, feel-good Olympics, none has lifted the public mood more than the achievements of rower Steve Redgrave, who won a fifth gold medal despite having to overcome severe health problems.
Well done Steve, well done everyone - and well done Australia for being such excellent hosts.
