SCHOOLBOY Gregg Shaw has raised £650 for the York Special Care Baby Unit where he spent the first two weeks of his life by having his head shaved.
Gregg, 11, of Haxby, took the brave step at Hair Flicks hairdressers in Clarence Street, York, where his father Paul also had his head shaved.
Paul said: "Gregg has had alopecia for a few years and wanted to get his head shaved.
"He was in the Special Care Baby Unit when he was born two months premature and we've done a lot of fundraising in the past for them as well.
"I had my head shaved too just so he wasn't alone."
Gregg's mother Gill, said: "Gregg is ecstatic about raising such a huge amount and is really looking forward to showing off his new style."
