THERE was further evidence that York RI's defence has tightened up since last season when they won 12-3 at Old Otliensians in Yorkshire Three.
It was RI's second win in three league games - all of which have been away, so the future looks promising.
Prop Andy Morse's try gave then a 5-0 interval lead after he crashed over from a rolling maul five metres out.
The home side reduced the arreas with a penalty, but prop Steve Rudd sealed victory after a quick tap penalty ten minutes from time, Ian Hassell kicking the extras.
St John's College student Andy Kehoe had an excellent gave in the centre for RI.
