Singers of all ages and from many different churches visited York Minster on Saturday to take part in the Annual Festival Service.
Organised jointly by the Royal School of Church Music and the North East Yorkshire Church Music Trust, the service saw about 400 singers, from right across the North, visit the Minster.
And despite the director of music, John Bertalot, suffering a serious attack of flu only days before the service, the show went on as planned and was hailed as a major success.
He was replaced by York Minster's assistant choir trainer, Jonathan Wainwright.
Spokesman for the Royal School of Church Music, Martin Dales, said: "The service was a tremendous success and was very well supported by both singers and members of the public."
