MY TV chef vote goes to dear sweet Delia Smith. Her prepared food always looks appetising to me which, sadly, is more than I can say about the concoctions 'rustled up' by some other TV chefs of the day. Faintly old-fashioned Delia may be, but she uplifts my spirits, for this very reason!
I had to stop viewing Antony Worrall Thompson, Michael Barry and Gary Rhodes' food programmes as unfortunately my appetite vanished on seeing the end-product of the undoubted culinary skills of those TV chefs.
One of Nigella Lawson's cookery programmes was a right turn-off for me when she separated a raw egg by letting it slide around her fingers.
Oh for the days of Yorkshire Television Farmhouse Kitchen with its plain fare and which really DID encourage viewers to try their hands at baking and cooking.
