I WAS dismayed to see on the facade of the Barbican two large advertisements for a well known brand of instant coffee.
Is it now the policy of the City of York Council to use public buildings for commercial advertising? What next - fire engines carrying logos of a potato chip manufacturer?
Will we soon see ambulances promoting drug companies?
This pollution of advertisements spreading over the city takes away its dignity and certainly chips away at the quality of life of people who care about the environment.
How much income does City of York Council actually gain from this exploitation of the fabric of our city?
