THE Lord Mayor of York is in the pink as she launches Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Councillor Shan Braund tied a pink ribbon to the Roman Emperor Constantine outside York Minster to kick-start the special month.
Throughout October events will be taking place in York to help in the battle against breast cancer, which affects 35,000 women and 200 men in the UK every year.
Councillor Braund said: "I hope that people will do what they can to support the Cancer Research Campaign by wearing a pink ribbon and maybe taking part in the Get In The Pink Day next Friday."
