A talented young dancer from Riccall, near Selby, has waltzed her way through to a national competition.
Karen Garbett, aged seven, of Saunters Way, was named Medallist of the Year in a North East region competition and will now compete in national finals held in Blackpool.
Karen is a member of the Castleford Dancing School and is a previous national winner in the six to eight age category.
A specialist ballroom and Latin dancer, Karen wowed the judges with a dazzling waltz and paso doble.
Proud mother Heather, who accompanies Karen to all her shows, said: "She was absolutely brilliant. It has done her the world of good to win the title. We've now got our fingers crossed for the national finals."
