The Hogwarts Express steamed into Goathland Station as filming got under way on the new Harry Potter blockbuster.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is already well-known in Britain as the setting for many scenes from the TV series Heartbeat.
Now it is set to win international fame as a key location in Warner Brothers' film of the best-selling Harry Potter novels by J K Rowling.
This week's film work is understood to feature the arrival of young Harry on the specially-painted steam loco, ready to enrol at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Children understood to be from a school in the region are being bussed in to act as extras.
