STARS of the hospitality industry in York were recognised at an awards ceremony which raised £1,500 for the Hospice 2000 appeal.
The Oscar-style awards night, Awards for Excellence 2000, was organised by York and District Hospitality Association and was held in the Ebor Suite at York Racecourse.
The cheque presentation to the hospice took place at The Grange Hotel, Bootham.
Association chairman Shara Ross said: "There was a wonderful atmosphere on the night and we are very grateful to the award's sponsors and to those who donated the prizes for the auction. We are delighted that the evening was a success for both tourism in York and for St Leonard's Hospice."
