MANOR won the boys section in Acomb Hockey Club's fourth annual Schools Seven-a-side Tournament.
Their 0-0 draw in the final game saw them win the section by three points.
The girls and mixed sections were contested by seven schools, so a play-off scheme was devised.
In the girls section, Huntington secured their place in the play-off final by winning their last two games against Joseph Rowntree and King James while Barlby's draw against Tadcaster ensured that a new name would be on the trophy.
Barlby secured victory in the play-off with an early goal and then played some controlled 'keep ball' hockey that kept Huntington out.
The mixed section was a tight affair as teams battled it out to face Manor in the play-off final. Manor had enjoyed comfortable wins against Tadcaster and All Saints.
Bootham, Tadcaster and Huntington all finished on 13 points and could only be separated by Bootham conceding fewer goals as all three had scored the identical amount of goals.
The final was an open match with Bootham using the long ball with some success and with five minutes to go they scored the only goal with a breakaway. A skilful Manor side did everything right except find the goal that would have taken the game into a sudden death period.
Acomb president Ian Gladders presented the trophies.
