A hastily arranged fixture saw Heworth rugby league club's Under-14s travel to Sheffield to play Eckington Eagles and record a resounding 52-16 victory.
A solid defence, with Marcus Allan, Mathew Derry, Craig Griffiths and Joe Hodgson all prominent, subdued the home team and paved the way for some exciting attacking play.
Heworth scored tries at regular intervals through Paul Thompson (3), Marcus Allan (3), Mathew Derry (2) and Joe Hodgson, with conversions from Sean Coulson (3), Mike Welsh (2) and Paul Thompson.
Heworth Under-12s had just a bare 13 players for their trip to Rodley Rockets and were unlucky to lose 10-8 after a battling performance.
Heworth's tries came from Danny Allan and Steve Huller.
