Six people were arrested after a van ploughed through the front wall and bay window of a North Yorkshire pub.
The white Ford Transit van narrowly missed customers in the Spacey Houses pub in Pannal, Harrogate, yesterday afternoon. Also in the building the eight-year-old son of the pub's chef.
Police said the seven occupants of the van, who were all men aged between 17 and 29, had been drinking.
A firework had been let off in the back of the van and the driver then lost control of the vehicle and it hit the pub.
Licensee Caroline Stevenson said: "The van just missed the pool table. We were lucky because there were a couple of lads there on the other side of the table. It just missed it by a few inches.
"I think the chef was more shocked about it than anyone because his eight-year-old son had been in the room."
Tony Lidgate, of North Yorkshire Police, said two of the men in the van had been injured, one with head injuries, and six out of the seven were arrested and released on police bail, pending inquiries.
