I NOTED with interest your photograph of the butcher's stall selling locally grown sausages (September 16).
This was put rather appropriately on the opposite page to the gardening page.
Because I am fond of sausages and I have a small garden I wonder if your gardening expert, Gina Parkinson, could give us some tips on how to grow them.
I have never seen any seeds or plants in the local garden centres. Are they more commonly grown in Cumberland or in Lincolnshire?
Also, are they grown in ring cultures, or do they have to be trained against walls?
I believe some varieties can be crossed with tomatoes and certain herbs.
