A mother and daughter with first-hand experience of coping with epilepsy are inviting sufferers and carers to attend a support group they have set up.
Karen Snowball, 36, of Pocklington, had her first seizure when she was ten months old and wants to show others it is a condition you can cope with.
Through trial and error, Karen has developed a medication regime which keeps her fits to a minimum.
She also suffered complications when she was born three months premature which left her with learning disabilities.
But she has worked hard to conquer these limitations and went back to her studies later in life to gain the qualifications to run her own business, Kas' Cross-stitch, making hand-stitched greetings cards.
She donates 20p from each sale to the British Epilepsy Association.
The next support group meeting takes place at the Feathers Hotel, Pocklington, between 7.30pm and 9pm on October 3 and every first Tuesday of the month from then on.
