A man has been warned about his conduct by Harrogate Detectives after he questioned over a suspected firearms incident in the town.
On Tuesday, Harrogate police received a number of calls from concerned members of the public who had spotted a man in the Kings Road area carrying what appeared to be a revolver.
But police enquiries in that part of town led to the home of a 38-year-old man, who produced the 'revolver'. It turned out to be a plastic toy.
After questioning the man and giving him a warning, police decided not to take the matter any further.
Harrogate Detective Sergeant Mick Boothroyd said: "As a result of enquiries made by police we have recovered a plastic toy gun from an address near to the place the man was seen.
