WHEN inquiring about a birthday card featuring an aeroplane in Browns of York another customer, a woman, overheard and handed one to me.
It showed a Second World War Mosquito. During the conversation that ensued she mentioned Wing Commander Starr who was a Mosquito pilot engaged on intruder operations and later killed in action. I followed up the brief details she had given me and made contact with pilots who knew him. I learnt the circumstances of his being shot down in January 1945.
I should like the woman I met in Browns to contact me on 01904 612612 so I can pass on this information
