What should be the happiest day of any couple's lives turned slightly sour after a thief stole two full rolls of films.
But newlyweds John and Dawn Powell refused to let it get them down and they are now honeymooning in the Maldives.
Both they and photographer Paul Elliott have appealed for the return of the films.
They went missing from the front lawn of the Elmbank Hotel, in The Mount, last Saturday while snapper Paul was organising a group shot.
He said he only left his camera case alone for "a moment or two," but when he turned round it had gone. Inside it were two full rolls of film and a lens.
Paul said: "While I'm realistic enough to know I might not see the case and the lens again, I would ask that the films be returned.
"They're no use to anyone else and it will be a real shame for the couple if they never see those pictures."
The bride's mother, Pam Hurst, said the couple were told of the news on the day and took it well.
She said: "Obviously they were upset, but it was such a lovely day they both said they wouldn't let it be ruined. They would like to see the pictures though.
If you have the films and would like to give them back you can phone Paul on 01904 656565.
