JUST when fans of Scarborough thought that the club was moving forward, it has been revealed that there has been a problem concerning the transfer of the majority share-holding of the Russell family to the club's major creditor, Brooks Mileson.
Mileson was at the club yesterday and said: "The reason I have come today is to bring cheques to cover the players' wages for July.
"Hopefully the shares matter can be sorted out and we will be able to go forward as a club and, of course, one of the first things we shall be addressing is the transfer embargo, which is still in place."
That transfer embargo is causing player-manager Neil Thompson a severe headache, as he attempts to lift a team which has slumped to three successive defeats.
He is unable to make any loan deals and, with two of his senior players picking up injuries this week, he is struggling to name a side for the visit to Hayes.
Marcus Jones and Denny Ingram are both rated as doubtful and, with ex-York City boss Thompson still not fully fit, he has real problems.
