THE man who was killed on train tracks north of York yesterday was RAF policeman John Robert Moodie.
Mr Moodie, 40, from RAF Leeming, died near Raskelf. Trains north and south of York were delayed by up to two hours after the incident, just before 8am, involving a train bound from Edinburgh to London King's Cross.
A spokeswoman for RAF Leeming said: "I can confirm that he worked in our police flight and had worked there since last October."
A spokesman for the North Yorkshire coroner's office said a post-mortem examination was being conducted today and an inquest would be opened tomorrow.
