Winner of the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot as a juvenile, Rosselli suffered various problems last season, but has given notice of a return to form this term.

His best effort came at Chester in mid-July when he finished a close-up second to Indian Spark in a Listed race.

Since then he has finished a honourable sixth in a Group 3 event at Goodwood before finding the company on Knavesmire too hot in the Nunthorpe, in which he beat only one home after racing with the leaders for more than three furlongs.

Rosselli, though, should not be written off yet. Tomorrow could bring some reward for his efforts.

A recruit to the North Yorkshire yard, confirmed sprinter Angel Hill was tried over seven furlongs at Beverley recently and looked an unlucky loser in finishing fourth to Tipperary Sunset after meeting trouble over a furlong out.

Well worth another chance tomorrow, Angel Hill should not be overlooked.

Ryan can also score with Eastern Red, who has been knocking at the door in minor company and can finally hit the mark in the selling nursery.

At Lingfield, the £10,000 Tote Quick Pick Handicap offers Copplestone a good chance of an overdue success.

The Peter Harris-trained gelding has finished in the frame in his last four races and deserves to get his head in front. Richard Quinn has the task of getting him home in front.

Quinn, who was feeling unwell and missed yesterday's racing at York, where he had booked rides in all eight races, can also score on Burning Sunset in the Arena Leisure Maiden Stakes.
